ABOUT MARTIN COUNTY

Martin County is a proud West Texas community named after early settler Wylie Martin, with its county seat located in the heart of Stanton. The county’s economy is driven by two major forces: agriculture and oil and gas. Cotton, small grains, and corn remain cornerstone crops, while the energy sector continues to play a vital role in local growth and employment.

Education is supported by two school districts within the county — Grady ISD, Stanton ISD — providing strong academic and extracurricular opportunities for local families. The Martin County Hospital District serves as the county’s primary healthcare provider, offering essential medical services to residents across the region.

With a population of 5,237 (2020 Census), Martin County is anchored by the community of Stanton, where the Martin County Chamber of Commerce office is located. Together, the county’s rich heritage, strong industries, and close-knit communities make it a welcoming place to live, work, and grow.
